Luxembourg swimmer qualifies for Rio Summer Olympics Games 2016

Luxembourg athletes on the first day of the Games of the Small States of Europe in Iceland scored a sum of 16 awards, with swimmer Raphael Stacchiotti fitting the qualifying for the Rio Summer Olympics Games 2016.  He has won seven gold, two silver and seven bronze awards.  In the 200-meter race, he won the gold award with a period of 2'00"28. This was inside of the Summer Olympic 2016 least standard, winning Stacchiotti a spot in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.


Swimming confirmed a wining order for Luxembourg on Tuesday, with Jean François Schneider wining gold on the 200-meter backstroke. Eline van sanctum Bossche scored bronze for the same race in the women rival. 


Schneider won bronze in the men's 100-meter freestyle. Monique Olivier scored silver and another national record in the 200-meter butterfly and bronze in the 200-meter mixture, where she set another national record. Laurent Carnol earned Luxembourg another gold award with his execution in the men's 200-meter butterfly. Julie Meynen and Julien Henx both won gold for the 100-meter freestyle with Henx setting another national record.


Best Olympic athlete Carole Calmes won silver for the Grand Duchy. Gold went to Charline Mathias in the 800-meter track event. Another gold medal was won by Claude Bertemes. Bronze went to Pol Mellina and Sebastien Hoffelt.  


Lisa Pastoret and the women group in general won bronze. Luxembourg was second generally speaking in the medal table, behind host nation Iceland, who has effectively scored 26 awards toward the end of the first day. Cyprus was 3rd generally speaking with 11 medals.
